Mr. Crabtree was appointed to serve on the Board, representing the City of Winter Garden, in December 2015. Mr. Crabtree was the General Manager at Lake Apopka Natural Gas District from 1991 until early 2008. Mr. Crabtree was a partial owner of Kerr Marine Tool Company for many years.

Mayor Rees was appointed to serve on the Board, representing the City of Winter Garden, in March 2000. Mayor Rees served for twelve years on the Winter Garden City Commission and worked with Silver Springs Citrus for over 40 years. Mayor Rees is currently serving his 4th term as Mayor of Winter Garden.

Mayor Murray was appointed to serve on the Board, representing the City of Clermont, in January 2021. Mayor Murry is serving his second term as Mayor of the City of Clermont.

Mr. Smith was appointed to serve on the Board, representing the City of Apopka, in May 2022. Mr. Smith is serving his second term as an Apopka City Commissioner and also serves as a minister.

Hon. Diane Velazquez - Director

Has served as a City Commissioner for the City of Apopka since 2014. She was re-appointed to serve on the Board, representing the City of Apopka, in November 2024, after previously serving from 2016 until 2018. Commissioner Velazquez is a retired law enforcement officer and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Tri-County League of Cities and the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce.

Meeting Schedule - LANGD Board of Commissioners

The regular meetings of the Lake Apopka Natural Gas District are generally held the fourth Monday of each month at 10:00am at the District office located at 1320 Winter Garden-Vineland Road, in Winter Garden, Florida. Any change to the regularly scheduled meeting date is communicated to the member cities of Winter Garden, Apopka and Clermont and published in the Legal Notices section of The Orlando Sentinel. Meeting notices, agendas, and any other applicable resolutions or notices are posted on the District website and in the District lobby the Wednesday prior to each board meeting. All board meetings are open to the public.
